From SportsGoons: New Apple iPod Holds Up to 100 NFL Players and Coaches
Apple CEO Steve Jobs on Wednesday introduced a new addition to its popular iPod line that enables NFL owners to store up to 100 players and coaches. The iPod NFL™, available in black or white, retails for just $249. “For a typical road game, travel costs run as high as $65,000 if you factor in flights, meals and hotel stays,” said Indianapolis Colts’ travel secretary Janice Snelling. “Now all our owner has to do is book a flight for himself and pack the iPod.”
Colts owner Jim Irsay says its multi-feature set and ease of use attracted him to the iPod NFL. “I can transfer players and coaches to the field via USB, play games, and use it all day because it’s got a 14-hour battery,” said Irsay. “The iPod NFL is the biggest news in travel since the airplane. It’s going to change the rules for the entire player transport market,” said Jobs. “I’m talking about a revolution, people! Now who’s with me? Carl, Vince? Good. Lyle? C’mon Lyle! Do it! We’re going to transform the future world and alter the modernization of the next generation. Or whatever. Trust me, it’ll be cool.” Jobs says Apple’s next release will be the iPod NFL Nano™, a more compact version of the iPod NFL that is slimmer than a #2 pencil and weighs just 1.5 ounces, but hold just 60 players and coaches.
